My mum has been baking like mad again and we have hot mince pies, fresh cakes, tea, coffee, mulled apple juice and lots of festive cheer! The Bazaar runs from 9th to the 18th December 2011 from 10am until 5pm, CLOSED MONDAY 12th DEC. We also have fabulous Hellebores for sale, vintage terracotta pots, perfect gifts for gardeners or if you're completely stuck, why not give a National garden centre gift voucher so that special person can choose their own Christmas present! Marvellous March!!!
Wow!!! What a scorcher of a month March has been. Everyone is already asking me if i've been on holiday.. the sun has been shining on us and the nursery is looking beautiful!
We have had a fantastic start to the year, our feet haven't touched the ground. After such a long winter, we've had a glorious month and our customers have been out in force. We've trialled some new plants this year to test the water and see how our customers like them. Our best seller this month has to be good old Ammi majus.. a beautiful annual which we sow in the Autumn with lace like ornamental flowers similar to cow parsley. The flower is fantastic in a vase too. Some of our more unusual perennials such as Crambe cordifolia have also now all sold out, this proves that you all have fantastic taste in plants!!
We are serving tea, coffee and cakes all weekend this weekend so bring along Mum for mothers day. We are also planning a gardeners question time for a summer evening at the nursery. Our glasshouses are filling up with bedding and we are already re stocking our perennials and shrubs. Let's hope the sun keeps shining in the daytime and the rain comes at nightime! All the best to you and happy spring. Emma

frustrating week!
Hello all, well, it's been a little frustrating this week. We are all geared up and feel ready for the spring season to come along and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council decided to close our lane off without letting us know. We are very sorry if you tried to reach us this week. We have put in a formal complaint as the diversion signs were ridiculous.. if you did try and visit then I can tell you that the roadworks have now gone and we are accessible again!
The nursery is looking fantastic and our plants are growing cm's in one day in this lovely warm weather. Our tulips are looking great and Pansies and Violas cheer up any dreary days we've had. Do come along and pay us a visit, we promise a visit to us will lift your spirits and as we've not had a single customer this week due to the roadworks, you may well get a hug!!!!!! Happy gardening! Emma

sunshine and progress!
Ever feel like it's all coming together at the last moment? This past week, we have made so much progress in the nursery. Monty and Stuart are replacing rotten wood, painting and fitting new wood, re glazing and generally giving some of the glasshouses a good going over before we get too busy to carry on work.
Clare our wonderful new employee has been working hard with Emma and our new volunteer Elizabeth to ensure that our plants are all tip top for our customers to peruse! Thanks girls.
Monty and I were on BBC Radio Kent again yesterday morning on Andy Garlands Sunday morning Gardening show. Andy is a great guy and we really enjoyed catching up with him a year on... you can listen to our interview on the BBC iplayer for the next week, we're approx 2hrs and 18 minutes in.
And last but not least.... many, many thanks to the wonderful Sarah who has tirelessly juggled baby Ella with creating our brand new website which launched today!
I will try and regularly update this website with snippets of nursery life ... our geranium plugs arrive next week and then the madness of potting up nearly 5000 plants a week will start... hold on tight... here we go again!

Back broken creating a new sales area in the nursery
WOW!!! I have a blog and I am mega impressed with our friend Sarah's hardwork with a screaming baby to deal with at the same time (she never screams when I see her,,,, Ella that is!). My back has given way to breaking up hardcore and throwing it into our new sales area. Good job we have Stuart, Neil and Monty who would appear to have more stamina than me!!!
Keep up the good work Sarah, we love it!!! x
